Back ups are very important.  Maybe that’s a bit of an understatement.  I have over 100GB is critical data.  Five years of digital photos, both raw and edited.  A year’s worth of digital video in MPEG2 format.  My MP3s from my archived CD collection.

I have a lot of critical crap.

I just did a back-end upgrade from Sarge to Etch.  It went pretty well.  I did take the extra time to read all the prompts.  Good thing too, otherwise my MySQL, Apache, Webalizer, and a few other config files would have been overwritten.

I also took the time to put up an Iwakuni Trader test site.  For starters, I added multiple pictures.  I’m going to try and spruce up the site over the next few weeks with a visual overhaul.  We’ll see how that goes.

Well, after a long break, it was time to start looking at my server.  You know, giving her some lovin’.  I decided to move some files around for better access and to create a backup plan.

I got a Wii! It’s a neat little console. The physical box is very slick and very small. It’s not much bigger than an external hard drive enclosure. There is a small cover on the front. Behind that, sockets for SD cards and the remote “re-sync” button. On the top/side (more on that in a bit), you’ll find another cover. Behind that you’ll find sockets for GameCube controllers and memory cards.

I finally told people about Iwakuni Trader yesterday.  I’d been working on the idea for about a year.  Now, the beast has been unleashed.  I’m interested in seeing how it holds up.
